Florida State stays No. 1; Miss State vaults in at 14

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) -
Florida State remained the top-ranked team in college football after surviving in overtime against Clemson on Saturday, while Mississippi State's surprising win at LSU vaulted the Bulldogs into the new Associated Press poll at No. 14.
The Seminoles played without Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston on Saturday after the school imposed a one-game suspension for a lewd comment he made about women on campus during the week.
They survived, but just barely with a 23-17 victory.
