GAME NOTES: The Eastern Michigan Eagles have dropped two straight contests and will look to put a stop to the skid as they host the Central Michigan Chippewas in a Mid-American Conference battle at the Convocation Center.

Central Michigan, following a three-game losing streak, has won its last two games, including a 70-67 edging of Northern Illinois on Sunday. The Chippewas haven't been able to recover from a slow start in-conference, and now own a 3-11 record in the MAC West Division this season.

Eastern Michigan has lost two consecutive games after the Eagles had won three games in a row. EMU was defeated by intrastate rival Western Michigan on Sunday, 75-67. The Eagles own a .500 record in conference play this season at 7-7.

Central Michigan owns the lead in the long-time series with Eastern Michigan, 98-88. The Eagles traveled to Central Michigan earlier this season and defeated the Chippewas, 72-59, in hostile territory.

Central Michigan was able to avenge an earlier loss to Northern Illinois this season by edging the Huskies on Sunday. Braylon Rayson netted a team-high 19 points in the win, and Austin Stewart chipped in with 16 points and six rebounds. Chris Fowler added 15 points of his own with eight assists, playing all 40 minutes of the contest. The Chippewas shot 42.6 percent from the field in the victory.

Fowler continues to have a standout season in an otherwise below average year for his Central Michigan team. Fowler leads the squad with 17.8 ppg on 51.6 percent shooting from 3-point range. His 139 assists on the year more than doubles Rayshawn Simmons' second-place total of 57, and Fowler's 51 steals is a team best. The freshman Rayson has moved into second on the team in scoring with 10.8 ppg, tied with John Simons. Simons leads the Chippewas with 5.7 rpg.

Western Michigan jumped ahead of Eastern Michigan at the end of the first half by eight points, and was able to coast through the second period to victory. Darell Combs came off the bench to score a team-high 21 points in the Eagles' loss. Glenn Bryant chipped in with 12 points, and Mike Talley contributed 10. Eastern Michigan shot 39.7 percent from the field in the contest.

Karrington Ward, who scored just two points in the loss to Western Michigan Sunday, leads the team in scoring on the season with 12.4 ppg. The forward checks in as the team's top rebounder as well, grabbing 6.6 rpg and adding a team-high 40 steals to his resume. Raven Lee is second on the squad in scoring with 10.7 ppg, and Talley checks in at third with 10.3 ppg. Talley is the team's top assists man with 3.3 apg.

Central Michigan has won two straight in MAC play for the first time all season. But Eastern Michigan was able to go into the Chippewas' home and dismantle them earlier this year, and in Ypsilanti the Eagles will have a much more favorable matchup.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Eastern Michigan 75, Central Michigan 62
