Oxford, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - David Brown sank a free-throw attempt with two seconds remaining in the extra session to lift the Western Michigan Broncos to a 78-77 overtime victory over the Miami-Ohio RedHawks in a Mid- American Conference thriller at Millet Hall.

Brown finished with 25 points for WMU (9-5, 2-0 MAC) as it notched its fourth consecutive decision and also its first true road victory of the campaign. Connar Tava added 22 points while Shayne Whittington posted 12 points and eight rebounds.

Bill Edwards paced the RedHawks (5-8, 1-1) with 24 points off the bench. Will Felder tallied 19 points and seven rebounds. Willie Moore contributed 11 points.

The Broncos dominated the opening half as they shot 61.9 percent from the floor including 6-of-13 from beyond the arc en route to a 35-26 lead at the intermission. Miami was limited to 29.2 percent efficiency from the field in the first period.

The RedHawks improved to knock down an even 50 percent of their field goal attempts after the break. WMU hit on 52.9 percent of its shots from the floor in the second period, but attempted 13 less field goals than the hosts. Brown made a trip to the charity stripe with 12 seconds left in regulation and made 1-of-2 attempts to give the Broncos a 65-63 advantage. Moore put in a layup with two seconds left before the buzzer to force overtime.

Edwards made a jumper with seven seconds left in overtime to tie the score at 77. However, Brown drew a foul on WMU's next possession to put himself in position to convert his game-winning free-throw attempt.

Both sides finished with 28 total rebounds in the very evenly matched league tilt. WMU sank 24-of-27 attempts at the charity stripe while Miami made 17- of-18 at the free-throw line.
