NCAA Game Summary - Fordham at Saint Joseph's

(Saturday, February 22nd)

Final Score: Saint Joseph's 87, Fordham 72

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Langston Galloway set a school record with 10 3-pointers as the Saint Joseph's Hawks posted an 87-72 win over the Fordham Rams in Atlantic 10 Conference play at Hagan Arena.

Galloway knocked down 10-of-15 shots behind the 3-point line on the afternoon for the Hawks (19-7, 9-3 A-10), finishing with 33 points as he made good on 11-of-18 from the floor overall. Ronald Roberts and DeAndre Bembry both pitched in 13 points, the former clearing nine rebounds, while Halil Kanacevic tacked on 10 points, seven boards, five assists and three blocks for a team that has won four straight and six of seven.

The Rams (9-16, 2-10), losers of six of seven, were led by Bryan Smith who tallied 28 points on 6-of-11 shooting on the perimeter, but he was the only starter in double figures for the visitors. Reserve Jon Severe accounted for 12 points, shooting only 4-of-13 from the floor.

The Hawks scored the first points of the day and never looked back, connecting on not only 60.0 percent from the field in the first half, but also 7-of-13 on the outside, in order to grab a 42-30 advantage at the break.

In the second half it was more of the same for the home team as it converted 58.3 percent from the floor, 8-of-16 on the perimeter, en route to the comfortable victory.

Despite the outstanding effort shooting the ball today, the Hawks still hurt themselves with 19 turnovers, which Fordham traded in for 27 points.

This was the 300th Atlantic 10 game for Hawks coach Phil Martelli.
