NCAA Game Summary - Arkansas at Mississippi State

(Saturday, February 22nd)

Final Score: Arkansas 73, Mississippi State 69

Starkville, MS (SportsNetwork.com) - Anthlon Bell scored a career-high 19 points in only 17 minutes off the bench, and the Arkansas Razorbacks earned a 73-69 win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs in a Southeastern Conference tilt at Humphrey Coliseum.

Michael Qualls added 15 points and Bobby Portis finished with 13 points and seven rebounds to help lift the Razorbacks (18-9, 7-7 SEC) to a fifth victory over their last six games.

Colin Borchert led all scorers with 21 points to go along with seven rebounds off the bench for the Bulldogs (13-14, 3-11), whose season-long losing streak has now reached nine in a row. Roquez Johnson tallied 11 points and nine boards, while Trivante Bloodman and Craig Sword each scored 10 in the loss.

Arkansas claimed a 39-35 halftime lead after knocking down 7-of-17 3-pointers in the first half. Bell was instrumental in the early going, as he scored 10 straight points during one stretch.

The Razorbacks led by as many as 15 with less than seven minutes to play before the Bulldogs made things interesting with a late push. A jumper by Qualls put an end to a 10-0 MSU run toward the end of regulation, as Arkansas managed to hang on for the win.

With the victory, the Razorbacks snapped a 12-game losing streak in Starkville while also recording two SEC road wins in a season for the first time since 2010-11.
