Blue Jackets agree to deal with Bobrovsky

Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - The Columbus Blue Jackets have agreed in principle on a two-year contract with reigning Vezina Trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky.

The Columbus Dispatch reported the move on Sunday evening, adding that the deal could be finalized following the completion of the draft.

Bobrovsky, who was set to become a restricted free agent next week, became the first Russian-born goaltender in NHL history to be recognized with the prestigious award after going 21-11-6 with a 2.00 goals-against average and four shutouts in 38 games.

His efforts were instrumental in Columbus' attempt for the second playoff berth in franchise history -- one which ultimately fell short.

During a three-year NHL career with the Flyers and Blue Jackets, the 24-year- old has gone 63-34-16 with a 2.49 GAA and .917 save percentage.
