Description: Seattle 1B/DH Kendrys Morales has hit three homers in his last seven games.
Insight: Morales had one homer in his first 55 games this season. He's hitting .229 with 15 doubles, four homers, 30 RBI and a .615 OPS, but he's starting to swing the bat better.

Description: SeattleDH/1B Kendrys Morales is not in Tuesday's starting lineup.
Insight: Morales played first base on Monday, but the team is better defensively with him at DH and Logan Morrison at first. They are in a NL city, so no DH is available.

Cold7/1/2014 10:09:00 AM
Description: Twins DH/1B Kendrys Morales is 1-for-12 (.083) against Royals starter James Shields.
Insight: Morales didn't play the first two months of the season and entered the Twins lineup immediately after signing, so some rust was to be expected and that's what we've seen so far (.215, 1 HR, 9 RBI in 20 games). This unfavorable matchup isn't likely to turn it around.

Description: Twins DH/1B Kendrys Morales is 3-for-22 (.136) with nine strikeouts against Texas ace Yu Darvish.
Insight: Morales didn't play the first two months of the season and entered the Twins lineup immediately after signing, so some rust was to be expected and that's what we've seen so far (.239, 1 HR, 8 RBI in 17 games). This unfavorable matchup isn't likely to turn it around.

6/25/2014 10:25:00 AM
Description: Twins DH/1B Kendrys Morales hit his first homer of the season Tuesday against the Angels.
Insight: Morales has hit .222 in 54 at-bats since he signed with the Twins. He didn't play the first two months of the season and entered the Twins lineup immediately after signing, so some rust was to be expected.

6/21/2014 12:12:00 PM
Description: Twins DH/1B Kendrys Morales will try his hand at fielding for the first time this season.
Insight: Morales is batting just .209 since signing with the Twins 11 games ago. He hit .277 with 23 homers, 80 RBI and a .785 OPS in 2013 and the Twins (and fantasy owners) hope he'll provide them with similar power.

6/11/2014 4:23:00 PM
Description: Twins DH/1B Kendrys Morales has gone 6-for-13 (.462) with three doubles and three RBI in three games with the team.
Insight: Morales signed with the Twins on June 7 after failing to draw interest on the free-agent market due to the draft-pick compensation he was tied to prior to the 2014 MLB Draft. He hit .277 with 23 homers, 80 RBI and a .785 OPS in 2013.

6/9/2014 4:13:00 PM
Description: Twins DH/1B Kendrys Morales is already in the starting lineup, two days after agreeing to a deal with Minnesota.
Insight: Morales figures to be very rusty considering the complete lack of work. We are talking zero minor league at-bats. He may add value down the road, but a wait-and-see attitude is recommended.

6/7/2014 4:31:00 PM
Description: Free agent DH/1B Kendrys Morales has agreed to a one-year, prorated $12 million deal with Minnesota.
Insight: That computes to around $7.6 million. In retrospect, Morales (.277, 23 HR, 80 RBI in 2013) probably would have been better off accepting Seattle's one-year qualifying offer last winter. That would have paid him $14 million. Regardless, Morales should provide an offensive boost for a team that has struggled to score runs this season.

Insight: Teams are waiting until after the draft to sign Morales (.277, 23 HR, 80 RBI in 2013) so they won't have to give up a draft pick. Morales owns a .232 average in 56 lifetime at bats at Yankee Stadium.

Description: The Orioles could still make a run at free agent DH/1B Kendrys Morales. SOURCE: Jon Heyman, CBS Sports
Insight: It would make sense, especially now that Chris Davis is out with a strained oblique. Teams have been hesitant to surrender a draft pick for Morales but the Orioles aren't worried about that after already giving up picks for Nelson Cruz and Ubaldo Jimenez. Morales hit .277 last season with 23 HR in 156 games for the Mariners.

Description: The Orioles are expected to sign either Kendrys Morales or Nelson Cruz in free agency. SOURCE: Ken Rosenthal, Fox Sports
Insight: Baltimore has holes to fill at left field and DH so either one would make sense. Morales (.277, 23 HR, 80 RBI for Seattle in 2013) can still bring it, though moving to the AL East is always a difficult transition.

2/9/2014 3:21:00 PM
Description: The Pirates are moving in on free agent first baseman Kendrys Morales.
Insight: There's no deal in place but Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe says both sides are interested. Morales would fill a huge need for Pittsburgh now that Garrett Jones (.233, 15 HR, 51 RBI) has signed with Miami. Though he hasn't looked the same since his devastating leg injury, Morales is still a safe bet for 20 HR and close to 100 RBI.

10/9/2013 8:27:00 PM
Description: Jon Heyman of CBS Sports doesn't expect designated hitter Kendrys Morales to accept his one-year, $14 million qualifying offer from Seattle.
Insight: By rejecting the offer, the Mariners are now entitled to a draft pick from whatever team decides to sign Morales as a free agent. The injury-prone Morales launched 23 homers in 156 games for the M's in 2013.

Hot9/28/2013 10:21:00 AM

He hit a combined .247 with five home runs and 28 RBI in the other three months and is batting .281 with 23 bombs, 80 RBI and a .793 OPS in a career-high 649 plate appearances.

Hot9/12/2013 11:22:00 AM
Description: Mariners DH Kendrys Morales has hit four homers over his last eight games.

Insight: Morales hasn't had a day off since July 7th. He's hit just .174 during Seattle's six-game losing streak.

Hot8/2/2013 10:28:00 PM
Description: Mariners DH Kendrys Morales belted four hits Friday in a loss to Baltimore.
Insight: One of the hits was Morales' 17th home run of the season. He's 13-for-17 at the plate over his last four games (.765 AVG). Unfortunately for Morales, the Mariners have lost each of those games.

Hot8/1/2013 10:36:00 PM
Description: Seattle DH Kendrys Morales went 4-for-5 Thursday and was 9-for-13 with three RBI during the three-game series at Boston.
Insight: The Mariners opted to keep Morales at the trade deadline. The veteran has raised his average 13 points over the last three games and is batting .291 with 16 home runs and 61 RBI.

7/15/2013 7:12:00 PM
Description: ESPN's Doug Mittler suggests that Seattle could look to move DH Kendrys Morales before the trade deadline.
Insight: Jon Heyman of CBS implied that Raul Ibanez could also be up for grabs though that seems unlikely given his recent hot streak. Morales is still only 30 and he's having a great year (.280, 14 HR, 54 RBI in 90 games). With Seattle 13 games behind Oakland in the AL West, the Mariners are much more likely to be sellers than buyers at this year's deadline.
