Description: Twins shortstop Eduardo Nunez clubbed his second home run of the season Sunday against Houston.
Insight: It was part of a three-hit game for Nunez, who finished with two RBI in his five trips to the plate. Nunez has only seen 55 at bats this year but he's made the most of them, hitting .291 with a .436 slugging percentage.

4/7/2014 6:32:00 PM
Description: The Yankees have traded infielder Eduardo Nunez to Minnesota for left-hander Miguel Sulbaran.
Insight: He'll start out in Triple-A Rochester and work his way up from there. Nunez owns a .267 lifetime average in 270 MLB appearances, all of which have come with the Yankees.

4/1/2014 6:06:00 PM
Description: The Yankees designated Eduardo Nunez for assignment on Tuesday.
Insight: Nunez has been one of the worst defensive infielders in baseball in his career and hasn't hit enough to offset that. Yangervis Solarte and Dean Anna will serve as New York's backup infielders until Brendan Ryan returns from the DL.

8/20/2013 10:56:00 AM
Description: New York Yankees infielder Eduardo Nunez is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against Toronto after injuring a hamstring on Sunday night.
Insight: Nunez, who missed two months with an oblique issue, is not expected to need another trip to the DL. Jayson Nix (.230, 2 HR, 22 RBI, 29 runs, 12 SB in 261 at-bats) will start at shortstop in the opener, but doesn't hold much fantasy value.

7/9/2013 9:28:00 AM
Description: New York Yankees infielder Eduardo Nunez is for the most part a fantasy non-factor, but against Royals right-hander James Shields, he might be worth a one-day play.
Insight: Nunez, who was out for two months with an oblique issue, is 7-for-15 (.467) with a pair of homers and a 1.433 OPS in his matchups with Shields.

7/6/2013 7:14:00 PM
Description: New York infielder Eduardo Nunez was activated from the DL on Saturday.
Insight: Nunez was out for two months with an oblique issue. He'll serve as the team's everyday shortstop until Derek Jeter (ankle surgery) comes back.

Description: Yankees shortstop Eduardo Nunez left Sunday's game against Oakland because of a rib cage injury. SOURCE: Dan Barbarisi, Wall Street Journal
Insight: His MRI came back clean so it doesn't sound like Nunez will have to go on the DL. He'll probably be kept out as a precaution Tuesday versus Colorado.

4/13/2013 4:35:00 PM
Description: Anthony McCarron from the New York Daily News doesn't expect Yankees shortstop Eduardo Nunez to be back in the lineup until Tuesday.
Insight: He injured his wrist Friday against Baltimore. McCarron hinted that manager Joe Girardi could opt to use Nunez as a pinch runner over the next couple of days but that's not enough to warrant a start in fantasy. Leave him on the bench until further notice.

4/13/2013 12:05:00 PM
Description: Yankees infielder Eduardo Nunez left Friday's game after being hit in the right wrist by a pitch and is doubtful for Saturday's game against Baltimore.
Insight: Nunez should return to the lineup in a few days, if not Saturday. The Yankees are running out of healthy players.

4/12/2013 8:57:00 PM
Description: Yankees infielder Eduardo Nunez left Friday's game after being hit in the right wrist by a pitch, but he just has a contusion.
Insight: Nunez should return to the lineup in a few days, if not Saturday.

4/5/2013 2:33:00 PM
Description: Yankees infielder Eduardo Nunez (.364) was hit by a pitch and left Friday afternoon's game with the Tigers.
Insight: Just what the Yankees need - more injuries. Jayson Nix took over at shortstop.

10/13/2012 5:44:00 PM
Description: Yankees infielder Eduardo Nunez was left off the team's ALCS roster.
Insight: Nunez went 1-for-5 during the Division Series and actually got the start at DH in Game 2. Righthander Cody Eppley will take Nunez's place on the roster.

5/11/2012 5:00:00 PM
Description: Eduardo Nunez has been sent down to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Insight: Nunez' defense is abysmal, making him a poor fit for the Yankees' super utility role. He's being demoted so he can improve his defense by playing middle infield every day. Those using him in AL-only leagues can safely drop him and look for other options.
