Insight: Adams doesn't normally start versus lefties, and David Price is pitching for Detroit, but it seems to be more than that. Adams did start on Friday even with a right-hander on the mound. Adams has just one hit in his last 30 at-bats, so for now the Cardinals are going with Mark Reynolds at first base.

Insight: Adams first injured his oblique a week and a half ago but returned after just missing two games. Daniel Descalso and Xavier Scruggs will play first base until Adams can return. It is unclear how long the big lefty will be out this time.
