London, England (Sports Network) - Germany won the team eventing gold medal Tuesday at the London Olympics ahead of Great Britain and New Zealand.
The Germans finished with 133.70 penalty points after the jumping portion, 4.50 fewer than the British team. New Zealand had 6.20 points more.
Mark Todd, 56, had the second best score among his New Zealand teammates and won his sixth Olympic equestrian medal. Todd earned the first of two straight individual eventing golds at the 1984 Los Angeles Games.
Zara Phillips, the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth and a rider on the British team, was one of 25 riders who made the individual jumping final at Greenwich Park.
