Insight: The goal was just Lapierre's second goal of the playoffs. He has had much more value getting under the skin of other teams, especially the Bruins. He was also at his theatrical best in this game, embellishing a Zdeno Chara stick tap late in the first period.

Insight: Lapierre placed his finger in front of Bergeron in a gesture mocking Bergeron's allegations that Alex Burrows bit his glove during Game 1. The Canucks have been advised to avoid stirring the pot any further regarding the finger incident, although Lapierre's job description usually includes annoying the other team.
