Description: The Washington Post reports the Redskins are considering using Buchanon on punt returns this season.
Insight: The Redskins' punt returner job is open with this offseason's release of Antwaan Randle El, and Buchanon had some success doing it in college and earlier in his NFL career. (SportsBuff.com)

Description: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Redskins have signed Buchanon to a one-year deal worth $1.5 million with up to $750,000 more in incentives..
Insight: Buchanon could be a factor in the Redskins' CB rotation. (SportsBuff.com)

Description: According to his Twitter feed, Buchanon is scheduled to visit the Redskins on Monday.
Insight: Buchanon was recently released by the Lions, which doesn't speak well of his ability to start anywhere else in the league. He would likely be a nickel back and punt returner wherever he ends up. (SportsBuff.com)

Description: Pro Football Talk.com reports the Vikings and Bengals are interested in Buchanon.
Insight: Buchanon would fill a need for CB depth for either of these two teams. (SportsBuff.com)

3/4/2010 6:03:00 PM
Description: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, via Twitter, that the Lions have released Buchanon.
Insight: Given the fact the Lions are so weak at CB, this is fairly surprising considering Buchanon was their best at the position in 2009. (SportsBuff.com)

2/25/2010 2:48:00 PM
Description: MLive.com reports that Buchanon is not a lock to return to the Lions next season.
Insight: Buchanon is due $3.5 million next season, but has not performed consistently enough for some of the Lions' coaches. Still, given the team's lack of talent at CB he may be back. (SportsBuff.com)

Steady7/22/2009 11:41:00 AM
Description: Buchanon will be one of the Lions starting cornerbacks, according to Mlive.com.
Insight: Buchanon brings moderate value in IDP leagues, especially if he returns kicks and they count as points. He won't be the Lions' primary kick returned, but could be used in a pinch. Last year with the Buccaneers, he had 48 solo tackles and two picks (one he ran back for a score). (SportsBuff.com)

3/4/2009 10:08:00 PM
Description: Buchanon reached a two-year deal with the Lions on Wednesday, according to ProFootballTalk.com.
Insight: Buchanon should have little trouble earning a starting corner spot for the Lions. He has had some unproductive seasons and didn't put up great numbers last year. He did produce fairly well in his first season and a quarter with the Bucs, though. He's a lower-level IDP defensive back who will only carry value in deeper leagues. (SportsBuff.com)
