2/5/2014 9:03:00 PM
Description: Now that he's retired from basketball, seven-time NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady plans to pursue a career as a baseball player. SOURCE: ESPN
Insight: McGrady is trying out for the independent Sugar Land Skeeters, the same team Roger Clemens pitched for a couple years earlier. The 34-year-old has a mid-80s fastball and also throws a slider and a splitter. McGrady claims the only reason he quit baseball was because the high school he transferred to his senior year didn't have a team. T-Mac is 61st on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

8/26/2013 9:07:00 PM
Description: Seven-time All-Star Tracy McGrady announced his retirement Monday on ESPN's First Take.
Insight: McGrady said his NBA career is over but he didn't rule out the possibility of playing again overseas. The 34-year-old appeared in six games without scoring a point last season (all were postseason games). T-Mac will finish his career with the 58th highest scoring average in NBA history (19.6 ppg).

Description: Spurs swingman Tracy McGrady won't be in uniform Sunday against the Lakers. SOURCE: Jeff McDonald, San Antonio Express-News.
Insight: McGrady signed with the team just a few days ago so it's understandable why Gregg Popovich would be hesitant to use him right away. T-Mac played well in China this past season but he hasn't been a game-changer in the NBA in some time.

4/16/2013 6:42:00 PM
Description: The Spurs have signed Tracy McGrady for the rest of the season. McGrady, 33, is eligible to play in the playoffs because he was not on an NBA roster as of March 1, according to Chris Broussard of ESPN.com.
Insight: The seven-time All-Star and two-time scoring champion averaged 25 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists in the Chinese Basketball Association this season. He has never won an NBA playoff series, but he has a great chance to do so with the second-seeded Spurs.

3/30/2012 8:45:00 PM
Description: Tracy McGrady is inactive for tonight's game against the Knicks. McGrady is sick with the flu.
Insight: It seems like the flu has been hitting NBA players pretty hard lately. Expect McGrady (5.2 ppg) to return to action shortly.

3/24/2012 7:06:00 PM
Description: Tracy McGrady will sit out Saturday's game with Washington.
Insight: McGrady hasn't been a fantasy worthy player since 2008-09, so this should have much of an effect on lineups.

3/10/2011 12:00:00 PM
Description: After not playing for five straight games, McGrady got the start Wednesday ahead of Rodney Stuckey and delivered 15 points, seven rebounds and nine assists.
Insight: There's no telling how permanent a move this might be, as no one seems to know why Stuckey got yanked. McGrady is worth an add based on the performance. We'll see what's next. (RapidDraft.com)

1/29/2011 1:08:00 AM
Description: Tracy McGrady continued to turn back the clock with a near triple-double that included 14 points, eight boards, 10 assists, a three, and four blocks in the tough loss in Miami.
Insight: McGrady has been nothing short of amazing and should be owned in all leagues. His owners should always be looking to sell high since it is very likely his knee will swell up on him at some point.

1/24/2011 11:50:00 PM
Description: Tracy McGrady was the primary ball handler for the Pistons as he finished with a 2003-type line of 20 points, seven boards, five assists, and two steals in 36 minutes.
Insight: McGrady had responded to surgery like Steve Austin this season. That's the Six Million Dollar Man, not the wrestler. Speaking of the wrestler, don't trust anybody! McGrady is one misstep away from going down and is a constant sell-high candidate.

1/15/2011 10:23:00 PM
Description: Tracy McGrady injured his shin and was not able to return to the game against the Kings. He only played 10 minutes and didn't score.
Insight: If we've said it once, we've said it a thousand times. McGrady just can't stay healthy and his owners might as well cut him even in the event the injury is minor. Ben Gordon (16 points in 31 minutes) looks even more promising and Will Bynum (18 points, seven assists, two steals, and a block in 26 minutes) became a blip on the radar with this news

1/14/2011 11:01:00 PM
Description: McGrady started and played 35 minutes against the Raptors. He had 22 points, four rebounds and five assists.
Insight: This was cleary McGrady's best game of the season. He continutes to play well when he starts and if he continues to start he should be productive. (RapidDraft.com)

1/14/2011 10:19:00 PM
Description: Tracy McGrady basically put the Pistons on his back and handed in a line of 22 points, four boards, five assists, and two threes in the road win at Toronto.
Insight: One of those threes was a fade-away jumper as the shot clock expired. He's playing extremely well and has great value. However, given his history it's very tough to recommend him as a reliable fantasy asset. Nevertheless, crazier things have happened and he should be owned in all competitive leagues.

1/12/2011 7:01:00 PM
Description: In a Pistons lineup shakeup, McGrady will start at point guard tonight.
Insight: Over his last nine games, he is averaging 29 minutes per game and putting up decent numbers with 11.7 points, four rebounds, and five assists. He could be worth a look in deeper leagues if you're in need of a well rounded game. It's great to see TMac getting playing time and putting up some good numbers. (RapidDraft.com)

1/4/2011 12:53:00 AM
Description: Tracy McGrady did it all in the loss to Utah by 11 points, nine boards, 11 assists, and a three in 34 minutes.
Insight: Rodney Stuckey was not quite ready and played just 14 minutes. McGrady has put together a few nice games and has value in deep leagues. He will likely need to rest his knee at some point and he won't be worth owning once he makes his way back to the injured list.

12/29/2010 11:57:00 PM
Description: Tracy McGrady looked as healthy as ever by dismantling Boston with a line of 21 points, eight assists, a three, and three steals in the start at point guard.
Insight: Rodney Stuckey did not play, but it was somewhat surprising to see McGrady (30 minutes) get the bulk of the minutes over Will Bynum (12 minutes). McGrady's knee will likely act up on him at some point, which means he's not worth adding in standard leagues.

12/22/2010 10:43:00 PM
Description: Tracy McGrady played like he did 10 knee injuries ago with 17 points, seven boards, seven assists, and three steals in 24 minutes.
Insight: It did come against the Raptors, one of the most inept defensive teams in the league. He is on the radar in deep leagues with this one, but his injury history means he should be let loose at the first sign of trouble.

11/3/2010 10:03:00 PM
Description: Coming off the bench for the Pistons, McGrady scored nine points, grabbed four rebounds and handed out three assists. He also had three steals in the loss to the Hawks.
Insight: McGrady hasn't given us any reason to want to own him in any format for a couple years and it remains the same today. (RapidDraft.com)

10/31/2010 9:16:00 AM
Description: The Pistons will play Tracy McGrady and Ben Wallace less in the second game of a back-to-back. SOURCE: Detroit Free Press
Insight: This is a bit helpful for Austin Daye's value. He is off to a very slow start and is a borderline own right now. Daily leaguers in shallow or standard leagues have more incentive to play Daye in the second games. McGrady or Wallace should not be owned in most leagues.

10/14/2010 6:03:00 PM
Description: McGrady's knee is supposedly structurally sound, but it remains to be seen if he will play in any remaining preseason games or whether he will be ready for the regular season.
Insight: There is no upside to Tracy McGrady right now, so don't bother drafting him. (RapidDraft.com)

10/14/2010 1:20:00 PM
Description: Tracy McGrady said he is going to be doubtful for the remainder of the preseason games. SOURCE: The Oregonian
Insight: McGrady is going to be doubtful for just about any game this year. He has no business being drafted in standard leagues and will likely miss more games than ones where he plays.
