5/2/2013 12:12:00 PM
Description: Jays DH/1B Edwin Encarnacion went 0-for-4 Wednesday against Clay Buchholz. He could be in for another tough night Thursday versus Sox righthander Ryan Dempster.
Insight: Encarnacion has had a bizarre season so far. Despite a terrible batting average (.229), he's tied with Mike Morse and Chris Davis for the most home runs in the American League (nine each). He's never had an extra base hit against Dempster (1-for-11).

5/1/2013 10:42:00 AM
Description: Toronto DH Edwin Encarnacion is an ugly 1-for-15 in his matchups with Boston starter Clay Buchholz.
Insight: Encarnacion, who slugged two homers Tuesday against the Red Sox, hit seven homers over the final seven games to finish with nine for the month. That's actually one more homer than he hit last April, and he went on to hit a career-high 42 homers last season. This matchup, however, probably isn't going to get his May off to a good start.

Description: Toronto DH Edwin Encarnacion bopped a couple of home runs Friday in a loss to New York.
Insight: Encarnacion still isn't hitting for a high average (just .225 for the season) but he has smashed five homers in his last four games. If he keeps this up, Encarnacion should be able to eclipse 30 homers for the second straight season.

4/24/2013 8:07:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays DH Edwin Encarnacion hit his second homer in as many days Wednesday afternoon versus the Orioles.
Insight: Encarnacion went 1-for-4 and is still batting just .210, but he has four homers, 12 RBIs and a strong 16/11 K/BB in 22 games.

Cold4/23/2013 10:30:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays DH Edwin Encarnacion jacked his third homer of the season Tuesday versus Baltimore.
Insight: Encarnacion came in batting .200 on the season but he went 1-for-2 with a three-run homer and two walks Tuesday. He has 10 walks in 21 games this season. Encarnacion is coming off a 42-homer season and should get a long leash from fantasy owners.

Cold4/21/2013 10:14:00 AM
Description: Blue Jays DH Edwin Encarnacion is only batting .209 on the year, but he has a .400 career average against Sunday's starter Ivan Nova of the Yankees.

Description: Blue Jays DH Edwin Encarnacion hit his second home run of the season Sunday against the Royals.
Insight: Encarnacion had poor career numbers against Santana so this could be a sign that he's snapping out of his funk. Encarnacion is hitting .133 in 45 at-bats this season.

Cold4/14/2013 12:02:00 PM
Description: Make sure Edwin Encarnacion is nowhere near your fantasy lineup on Sunday. He's batting just .154 in his career against Royals starter Ervin Santana.
Insight: Encarnacion (.119, 1 HR, 4 RBI) has been mired in a brutal slump since the start of the season. Expect it to continue Sunday with Santana on the mound for Kansas City.

Cold4/11/2013 11:35:00 AM
Description: Blue Jays DH Edwin Encarnacion has been ice cold this season. Don't expect Tigers starter Doug Fister to warm things up for him on Thursday.
Insight: Encarnacion is just for 2-for-12 in his career against Fister, which computes to a .167 batting average. Amazingly, that's actually better than he's been hitting up to this point in the season (.129 in eight games).

Description: The Toronto Blue Jays will use Edwin Encarnacion as their everyday first baseman, according to a nationalpost.com report.
Insight: Encarnacion spent most of the early portion of the season at DH and then moved to first after Adam Lind failed to live up to expectations. Edwin also played outfield three times and third base once. No matter where he plays, fantasy owners just want to see the same bat they saw last season when he hit .280 with 42 HR and 110 RBI.
