Insight: Jordan posted a 5.61 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP in 25 2/3 innings for Washington this season. The next time the team will need a fifth starter Doug Fister will be ready to come off the DL, so the Nats have decided to get an extra reliever on the roster until then.

Description: Nationals rookie Taylor Jordan (1-3, 3.66 ERA, 1.355 WHIP) has been placed on the 15-day disabled list and will miss the remainder of the season with a strained lower back.
Insight: Jordan began the season in Single-A so it's pretty remarkable that he's made it this far this quickly. He was also getting close to his team-imposed innings limit (he pitched 141 innings this season) so this early end to the year shouldn't effect fantasy owners who were going to lose him shortly anyway.
