Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) -
Kyle Ryan fired six scoreless innings in his major league debut and the Detroit Tigers held off the Chicago White Sox to post an 8-4 victory and a split of a day-night doubleheader.
The White Sox took Saturday's first game by a 6-3 score behind a two-run homer by Adam Dunn and seven solid innings from Chris Sale.
Ryan (1-0), promoted from Triple-A Toledo to start the nightcap, scattered five hits and a pair of walks before having to sweat out his first big league win after Chicago scored four times in the eighth to nearly erase a 5-0 deficit.
Should the Cards be worried about Wainwright?

Something isn't right with St. Louis Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright.
Mechanically he looks fine. His velocity has been relatively the same all season. But anyone who has seen him throw lately can identify that something seems askew.
After earning a National League All-Star start by going 12-4 with a 1.83 ERA, Wainwright has pitched to 4.68 ERA in eight starts since. The Cardinals have won only three of those games.
