NOTES
Fred Funk claimed his first major championship of any kind last year when he won the Tradition by three strokes over Mike Goodes. Funk dropped three strokes over the final three holes, but it didn`t matter. He had posted six birdies prior to that and was able to hold on for the win. He was battling a variety injuries at the time of his win and battled an injured knee throughout the off-season. Finally healthy, Funk has been hot recently as he tied for second at the Senior British Open and is coming off his second major championship victory at the U.S. Senior Open, where he won by six strokes. The Champions Tour has one more major remaining with the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship, where D.A. Weibring won last year. The Golf Channel has coverage of the first two days, before NBC takes over for the final two rounds. The Champions Tour shifts to Washington next week for the Boeing Classic, where Tom Kite won last year.
