Providence, RI (Sports Network) - Brown football will play back-to-back night games as part of its 2011 schedule announced on Wednesday.
The Bears will kick off their season on Sept. 17 at Stony Brook, then play the back-to-back night games at Harvard on Sept. 23 and at home against Rhode Island on Oct. 1. The intrastate game against URI is for the annual Governor's Cup.
The Bears played a night game at Brown Stadium for the first time last year, and an overflow crowd of 17,350 watched them defeat Harvard.
Coach Phil Estes' squad also will play home games against Holy Cross (Oct. 8), Princeton on Homecoming Day (Oct. 15), two-time defending Ivy League champion Penn (Oct. 29) and Dartmouth (Nov. 12).
Last season, Brown finished 6-4 overall and in a three-way tie with Harvard and Yale for second place in the Ivies at 5-2.
