Former Liberty standout becomes assistant
Lynchburg, VA (Sports Network) - Former Liberty University football star linebacker Manny Rojas has joined the Flames' coaching staff as both a defensive and special teams assistant.
Rojas ranks third in Big South Conference history with 348 tackles. As a senior in 2006, Rojas led the team with 102 tackles while it improved by five wins - an FCS-best that season - to finish 6-5 under head coach Danny Rocco.
After concluding his stellar four-year career for the Flames, Rojas remained close to the program, working within the athletics department as a member of the strength and conditioning staff.
Liberty has won the Big South title in each of the past three seasons. The Big South champion will earn an automatic bid to the FCS playoffs for the first time this season.
