Liberty Bowl renews agreements with SEC, Conference USA
Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - The Southeastern Conference and Conference USA have agreed to four-year extensions to continue participating in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
The Liberty Bowl has also entered into a contingency agreement with the Big East, which could gain access to the event should an issue of bowl eligibility arise from the aforementioned leagues.
The most recent postseason edition of the Liberty Bowl saw Arkansas nip East Carolina, 20-17, in overtime -- the first OT edition of the bowl in its storied 51-year history.
The 52nd edition of the Liberty Bowl is set for December 31, 2010 at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis. Last season's game was staged on January 2nd.
