NCAA Game Summary - Utah State at Hawaii

Honolulu, HI (Sports Network) - Trailing by 21 point at halftime, Utah State tailback Robert Turbin scored the go-ahead touchdown with just 14 seconds remaining in the game, leading the Aggies to a thrilling 35-31 come-from- behind win over the Hawaii Warriors in Western Athletic Conference play at Aloha Stadium.

Utah State (3-5, 1-2 WAC) fell behind 28-7 at the half, but outscored the hometown Warriors 28-3 after the break to earn its first league win of the season. Quarterback Adam Kennedy led the rally, as he completed 8-of-12 passes, for 163 yards and two scores in the win. Turbin finished with 96 yards and two TDs on just 15 carries, while wide receiver Stanley Morrison caught two passes for 105 yards and one TD. The Aggies finished the game with 433 yards of total offense, including 194 yards on the ground.

Hawaii (5-4, 3-2) amassed 407 yards on the night, but couldn't hold off the Aggies. Quarterback Bryant Moniz accounted for four first half touchdowns, completing 27-of-43 passes on the evening, for 227 yards and two touchdowns. He added 75 yards rushing and two TDs on the ground as well. Running back Joey Iosefa chipped in with 74 yards on 14 carries, while wideout Jeremiah Ostrowski led all receivers with eight catches, going for 76 yards and one touchdown.

The Aggies got on the scoreboard early, as quarterback Chuckie Keeton hit Matt Austin with a nine-yard TD pass, capping off a six-play, 64-yard drive, just under six minutes into the game.

It was all Hawaii in the second quarter though, as the Warriors scored 28 unanswered points in the frame to take a 28-7 lead into intermission. Minoz was responsible for all four scores.

Hawaii tied things up at 7-7 with an 18-yard TD pass from Moniz to Justin Clapp just four seconds into the second quarter. Moniz added a one-yard TD run just over four minutes later to give the Warriors a 14-7 lead. That was followed by an eight-yard TD scamper by Moniz and another 18-yard TD pass, this one to Ostrowski, with just 12 seconds remaining in the half.

Turbin turned things around for the Aggies in the third quarter when he broke off a 48-yard TD run at the 9:00 minute mark to make it 28-14.

Hawaii's Tyler Hadden made it 31-14 with just under five and a half minutes to go in the third quarter with a 24-yard field goal.

Utah State wrestled the momentum back after that.

The Aggies cut the lead to 31-21 late in the third quarter with a 37-yard touchdown pass from Kennedy to Chuck Jacobs and then pulled within 31-28 early in the fourth quarter as Kennedy hit Morrison on a 71-yard TD strike. It was a 12-play, 59-yard drive late in the game that proved to be the difference for Utah State, capped off by a one-yard TD run by Turbin.

With the loss, Hawaii's conference home win streak was snapped at seven games.
