Logan, UT (Sports Network) - Alex Green scampered for 172 yards and four
touchdowns on just 14 carries, as the Hawaii Warriors defeated the Utah State
Aggies, 45-7, in a Western Athletic Conference showdown at Romney Stadium.
Bryant Moniz completed 25-of-41 pass attempts for 389 yards and one touchdown
for Hawaii (6-2, 4-0 WAC). Greg Salas caught nine passes for 158 yards and a
touchdown, while Rodney Bradley had three receptions for 105 yards in the win.
Utah State (2-5, 0-3) struggled throughout the entire affair, as quarterback
Diondre Borel threw for 99 yards and two interceptions on 7-of-22 passing in
Green started the scoring, running for a two-yard touchdown late in the
Utah State answered on the first play of the second quarter, as Borel scored
on a 35-yard touchdown run.
The Warriors went up 14-7 after another touchdown from Green, this time
scoring on a 17-yard run.
The third quarter was all Hawaii, starting on a Spencer Smith fumble recovery
and touchdown return from six yards.
Green put Hawaii up 28-7 after 36-yard rushing score, which was later followed
by a 22-yard field goal from kicker Scott Enos.
Moniz threw for his first touchdown of the game after connecting with Greg
Salas for an 18-yard score.
Green later marched 61 yards for his fourth touchdown of the game to solidify
the 45-7 rout for Hawaii.
