Temple regained the lead on Stewart's 31-yard pass to Evan Rodriguez with four minutes left in the half.

Harnish put his team in front when he hit Palmer on a four-yard throw through traffic to give the Huskies a 24-17 lead with just over four minutes left in the third quarter.

Northern Illinois extended its lead when Spann scored on a six-yard burst with just under eight minutes left in the game.

The Huskies controlled the time of possession battle by more than 16 minutes. Northern Illinois converted 11-of-16 third-down situations, while Temple finished just 4-of-12 on those crucial downs.
