Audio of profane Pelini rant surfaces

(Sports Network) - Nebraska football coach Bo Pelini was so incensed by fans and reporters after a 2011 game he went on a profane rant prior to a postgame radio interview, according to a report. on Monday posted audio it said was of Pelini going off on fans and reporters. Deadspin said it obtained the audio recently from a tipster who said the recording was made Oct. 8, 2011, after the Cornhuskers came back from 21 points down to beat Ohio State.

The website posted the 102-second clip two days after Nebraska's 41-21 loss to UCLA.

In it, a man identified by Deadspin as Pelini says about Cornhuskers fans: "It took everything in my power to not say, '[Expletive] you, fans. [Expletive] all of you.' [Expletive] 'em."

A man, identified by Deadspin as radio host Greg Sharpe of the Husker Sports Network, says a lot of fans left at halftime of the Ohio State game (Nebraska trailed 20-6 at the half). An unidentified woman begins to say fans returned to their seats.

Pelini replies: "Our crowd. What a bunch of [expletive] fair-weather [expletive] ... they can all kiss my a-- out the [expletive] door. Because the day is [expletive] coming now. We'll see what they can do when I'm [expletive] gone. I'm so [expletive] pissed off."

The Nebraska coach also had choice words to say about two reporters, using the same type of profane language.

Deadspin points out that Pelini seemed not to know he was being recorded. The site's tipster says she "only recently had come into possession" of the audio, according to Deadspin.

Pelini is 51-21 in six-plus seasons as the Nebraska coach. In 2009, he signed a contract extension through the 2014 season.
