NCAA Game Summary - U-A-B at Memphis

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Jonathan Perry threw for 410 yards and four touchdowns to lead the UAB Blazers to a 41-35 victory over the Memphis Tigers in a Conference-USA bout at Liberty Bowl Stadium.
Jamarcus Nelson hauled in six passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns for UAB (2-8, 2-5 C-USA), while Greg Franklin rushed for 73 yards and one score on 10 carries.
Taylor Reed threw for 167 yards and two touchdowns for Memphis (2-8, 1-5), while Jerrell Rhodes rumbled for 95 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.
Memphis jumped out to an early 7-0 lead with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Reed to Justin Henderson.
UAB responded with a 32-yard field goal by Ty Long.
The Tigers extended their lead to 14-3 with a three-yard touchdown run by Billy Foster.
The Tigers continued to pull away from the Blazers, as Tannar Rehrer hauled in a six-yard touchdown midway through the second frame.
UAB went into the half down 21-10 thanks to a one-yard touchdown pass from Perry to Jay Davis.
Out of the break the Tigers went back on top by 18 points, thanks to a one-yard touchdown plunge by Rhodes.
UAB continued to stick around however, as Perry connected with Nelson on a 22- yard scoring strike.
Memphis pushed its lead to 35-17 when Rhodes broke free for a 22-yard scamper.
However, after that score the Blazers took control of the game, scoring 24 fourth quarter points. The first points came from the foot of Long, as he drilled a 24-yard field goal.
That was followed by an 18-yard touchdown pass from Perry to Nick Adams. Perry continued to lead the charge as he connected with Nelson for a 42-yard score just minutes later.
The final touchdown came with less than two minutes remaining, as Franklin's 10-yard touchdown run gave the Blazers a 41-35 advantage and that was enough for UAB to claim the victory.
