GAME NOTES: The Marist Red Foxes were riding a three-game winning streak before a loss to Quinnipiac broke up the momentum. Now Marist will look to get back in to win column when they host the Siena Saints in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at McCann Center.

Siena had lost two in a row before defeating Fairfield on Monday, 77-75, in conference play. The Saints have won four of their last six games, and are an even 7-7 in the MAAC this year.

Marist had won three in a row and four of its last six before the 83-78 loss to Quinnipiac Monday night. The loss set the Red Foxes back to 6-8 in the conference.

The Saints have a pretty solid grip on the all-time series lead over Marist, 49-24. That includes a Siena victory, 67-58, earlier this season in Albany.

Siena led for just 31 seconds in the game against Fairfield Monday night, but those 31 seconds were at the end of the game. Brett Bisping scored on a runner with eight seconds remaining to lift the Saints over the Stags in MAAC action. Bisping led Siena with 17 points in the contest, adding eight rebounds to his stat line. Rob Poole chipped in 14 points, Evan Hymes had 13 and Lavon Long scored 10 in the two-point victory.

Poole leads Siena in scoring this season with a 14.9 ppg average on 41.7 percent shooting from the floor. Bisping is second at 10 ppg, but leads the team with a 5.8 rpg average. Marquis Wright tops the squad with 136 assists on the year and 44 steals. The Saints are averaging 69.7 ppg and are giving up 72.7 to their opponents.

Marist went into the locker room at the end of the first half knotted with Quinnipiac, 40-40. The Bobcats are the ones who broke out in the second half, earning a five-point victory. Chavaughn Lewis tallied a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, and Khallid Hart also netted 21 points in the losing effort. Jay Bowie chipped in 12 points and T.J. Curry contributed 11 for Marist, which shot 39.4 percent from the floor.

Lewis has proven this season that he can be one of the top players in the MAAC, averaging 17.1 ppg. His 60 assists and 45 steals are team bests (but so are his 84 turnovers). Hart checks in at second in scoring with 13.9 ppg, and Bowie is third with 11.5 ppg. Adam Kemp is the team leader in rebounding with a 7 rpg average and 42 blocked shots.

Marist has been playing particularly well recently, but Siena is just too deep to contend with night in and night out, even on the road. The Saints, with solid defense, should be able to prevail.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Siena 69, Marist 64
