GAME NOTES: The George Washington Colonials try to remain unbeaten at home when they face the Fordham Rams in an Atlantic 10 contest from the Smith Center.

GW is unbeaten in 11 home games this season and has captured 12 in a row as the host. The Colonials are coming off a 71-57 home win over Duquesne Wednesday. Isaiah Armwood notched a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Patricio Garino netted a game-high 17 points for the Colonials, who have won six of their last seven games. Kevin Larsen and Nemanja Mikic chipped in 13 and 11 points, respectively.

The Colonials got back the services of Maurice Creek and Joe McDonald after both players missed the contest a week ago against Dayton. They combined for nine assists and 10 rebounds in the win against the Dukes.

Defense has been a huge reason for GW's success this season. The Colonials are giving up 65.3 ppg, which ranks second in the Atlantic 10. Teams are shooting 40.7 percent against the Colonials, and that also ranks second-best in the conference. Creek leads the way with 13.7 ppg, while Larsen (11.9 ppg, 6.5 rpg), Armwood (11.7 ppg, 8.5 rpg) and Garino (10.8 ppg) are also part of a team that averages 74.4 ppg, fifth-best in the A-10. Armwood, Garino and Larsen have combined to shoot 58 percent from the field during conference games.

The Rams have won just two of their last 10 games, but are coming off an 85-79 home triumph over Rhode Island Saturday. Branden Frazier scored 27 points and dished out seven assists. Mandell Thomas netted 18 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Jon Severe came off the bench to score 16 points, and Bryan Smith chipped in 10 in the win.

Fordham has the highest scoring backcourt in the Atlantic 10 as Severe (19.5 ppg) and Frazier (17.6 ppg) rank No. 1 and 4 in the conference in point production. Frazier enters today's game tied for second on the all-time Fordham assists list with 453 helpers. Frazier averages 5.2 rebounds and has a total of 60 assists this season. The 453 helpers tie Frazier with Jean Prioleau (1988-92) on the Fordham career list. Jay Fazande (1989-93) is the Fordham assists career leader with 548. Thomas (12.9 ppg) has struggled this season shooting and is making only 36.7 percent of his field-goal attempts. Forward Ryan Rhoomes (7.2 ppg, 7.9 rpg) leads the A-10 by making 64.9 percent of his shots from the field.

GW has dominated this series and has won all 10 previous meetings in the nation's capital. The Colonials lead the all-time series, 20-6, and have captured 12 of the last 14 encounters overall. The Rams seem overmatched in this contest, especially with Creek and McDonald primed to be more contributors on the offensive end as compared to Wednesday's game.
