GAME NOTES: The Hofstra Pride look to turn things around as they take on the Tulane Green Wave at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday.

Hofstra lost its sixth game in a row last Saturday when it was taken down by six points at home by Wright State. The Pride began the season 3-2 before the losing slide began and a few key players were suspended from school indefinitely. Coach Mo Cassara's team is showing improvement, as its past three losses have been by single-digit margin after being on defeated by more than 20 points twice in a row. Hofstra is scoring only 63.9 ppg and allowing 74.5 ppg.

The Green Wave are off to a much more desired 9-3 start after defeating Texas- Pan America (76-49) and Pepperdine (69-54) on back-to-back days in the Tulane Classic earlier this week. Coach Ed Conroy's squad has not yet picked up a win away from home in three tries. Tulane is outscoring its opponents by an average margin of 9.8 points per contest while pulling down 8.7 more rebounds per contest than its foes.

This will be the fourth meeting between the two schools and the first since the 1992-93 season. Tulane owns a 2-1 series lead.

Tulane overcame a cold start versus Pepperdine and cruised to a 15-point win after converting all 14 of its free throw tries and 57.1 percent of its field goal attempts after halftime. The Green Wave also held a 29-20 edge in the rebounding battle and scored 30 points in the paint to the Waves' 16. Jordan Callahan scored a game-high 20 points while Ricky Tarrant chipped in 12 points and six assists. Junior forward Josh Davis has been a force inside so far and owns a double-double average with 18.4 points and 10 boards per game. Tarrant (14.1 ppg) and Callahan (12.5 ppg) provide scoring punch from the backcourt regularly.

The Pride struggled to connect their last time out and finished 18-of-50 from the floor including a 5-of-22 mark from beyond the arc. They also committed 16 turnovers which led to 16 points for Wright State. Hofstra received strong contributions in the losing effort as junior forward Stephen Nwaukoni registered a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. Freshman forward Jordan Allen had the best game of his career with a team-high 13 points to go along with seven rebounds and two steals. Taran Buie, who leads the team with 15.3 ppg, was held to 11 by the Raiders. Nwaukoni is Hofstra's top rebounder with 7.7 caroms per outing.

Hofstra is a depleted team with a few solid players still remaining. Buie will need to have an explosive performance for the Pride to conclude their losing streak in Brooklyn. Davis and the Green Wave's one-two punch out of the backcourt should be able to carry Tulane past the Pride.
