Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Lamar Patterson scored a game-high 24 points and handed out six assists as the Pittsburgh Panthers captured an 88-67 win over the Stanford Cardinal in the championship game of the 2013 Legends Classic.
Talib Zanna and Durand Johnson both tallied 14 points for the Panthers (6-0), followed by Cameron Wright and James Robinson with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
The Cardinal (5-2) were paced by Dwight Powell with 20 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Anthony Brown pitched in with 16 points and six boards, followed by Chasson Randle with 10 points, although the latter missed all five attempts behind the 3-point line.
The Panthers converted 5-of-10 shots beyond the arc in the first half, as well as 14-of-15 at the free-throw line, en route to a 43-28 advantage at the break.
In the second half Pittsburgh again shot the ball well at the charity stripe (16-of-19), offsetting the 54.2 percent shooting from the floor for Stanford.
The Panthers finished the night with a 30-14 scoring edge at the line and turned the ball over just five times.
