Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Trey Lewis scored 23 points and handed out a team-high four assists to pace the Cleveland State Vikings as they completed a 78-55 rout of the Ball State Cardinals in a non-conference matchup at the Wolstein Center.
The Vikings (4-3) also received a strong contribution from Bryn Forbes, who scored 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field. Jon Harris came off the bench to score 15 points and collect a team-best eight rebounds.
Chris Bond led Ball State (2-4) with 17 points, but no other Cardinal shot over 50 percent from the field. Majok Majok had 11 of BSU's 25 team rebounds.
The Vikings led 39-32 at half after they shot 13-of-21 from the field compared to just 9-of-24 efficiency by the Cardinals. However, BSU stayed in the game by making 11-of-13 attempts at the free-throw line.
In the second half, the Vikings actually improved to hit on 63.6 percent of their field goal tries. BSU converted only 33.3 percent of its shots from the floor and went just 7-of-13 at the charity stripe.
Cleveland State shot 62.8 percent from the field in the contest, including a 7-of-11 clip from 3-point range.
While BSU had 14 turnovers to CSU's 13, it could not capitalize on the miscues. The Vikings scored 23 points off of turnovers while the Cardinals only scored eight.
