Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Steve Moundou-Missi scored 14 points to lift the Harvard Crimson to an 83-63 victory over the Penn Quakers in an Ivy League battle at the Palestra.
Laurent Rivard added 13 points for Harvard (21-4, 8-1 Ivy League), which has won six of its last seven. Kyle Casey and Wesley Saunders each chipped in 12 points and Siyani Chambers tallied nine points and 10 assists.
Fran Dougherty had a game-high 15 points for Penn (6-16, 3-5), which has lost three straight. Tony Hicks tacked on 13 points and Miles Cartwright contributed 10.
Both teams shot well in the first half. Penn hit on 52.6 percent from the floor, but it had eight fewer field goal attempts than Harvard, which claimed a 41-29 halftime lead by netting 48.1 percent.
The Crimson improved to 52 percent from the field in the second half, while hitting 15-of-19 shots from the free-throw line. The Quakers were unable to close the gap, connecting on 44.4 percent from the floor in the frame.
Harvard owned an incredible 24-2 advantage in points off turnovers. The Crimson forced 20 turnovers, 13 of which came on steals.
