Boulder, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Spencer Dinwiddie scored 15 points, leading four starters in double figures, as the Colorado Buffaloes topped the Wyoming Cowboys, 63-58, in non-conference action at the Coors Events Center.
Dinwiddie also pulled down seven rebounds for the Buffaloes (2-1), but shot a mere 2-of-9 from the floor on the night. Askia Booker accounted for 14 points, Xavier Johnson 13 and Josh Scott 12 points and nine rebounds in the victory.
The Cowboys (1-1) were paced by Josh Adams with 15 points, while Larry Nance Jr. responded with 10 points and eight rebounds before fouling out.
Wyoming led by as many as 10 points in the first half, shooting a solid 48.0 percent from the floor and 5-of-10 behind the 3-point line, while Colorado managed to convert a total of just eight field goals as the host fell behind at the break, 31-26.
After shooting just 32.0 percent from the floor through the first 20 minutes, the Buffs turned around and made good on 50.0 percent in the second half, adding 16-of-22 at the free-throw line in order to pull off the victory.
In a game that featured six ties and five lead changes, Colorado won the rebounding battle, 35-24, and outscored the visitors at the free-throw line, 24-11.
