NCAA Game Summary - Columbia at Princeton

(Friday, February 7th)

Final Score: Columbia 53, Princeton 52

Princeton, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Meiko Lyles' 3-pointer with 28 seconds to play was the decisive blow for the Columbia Lions, who edged out the Princeton Tigers, 53-52, in an Ivy League matchup at Jadwin Gymnasium.

Alex Rosenberg scored 19 points as the only player in double figures for Columbia (14-6, 3-2 Ivy League), which ended a two-game slide.

T.J. Bray netted 17 points and Hans Brase chipped in 13 for Princeton (12-6, 0-4), which has lost four of its last five and remains winless in conference play.

Princeton got out to a 33-25 lead at the break by shooting 57.1 percent and holding Columbia to 33.3 percent in the first half.

The Lions stormed back in the second frame, shooting at an even 50 percent clip to the Tigers' 33.3 percent. After Bray made a layup with 2:04 to play, giving Princeton a 52-47 lead, the Lions got 3-pointers from Isaac Cohen and Lyles to pull ahead. Bray and Ben Hazel each missed shots in the final seconds, which would have pushed the Tigers back in front.

Columbia had a 31-27 advantage on the glass. Princeton scored 17 points off of 13 turnovers.
