Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Devon Turk led all scorers with 19 points off the bench, and the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers cruised to a 77-50 win over the Furman Paladins in non-conference play at Gentile Arena.
Turk was dialed in from beyond the arc, knocking down 5-of-7 3-pointers for the game. Jordan Hicks added 12 points and Ben Averkamp finished with 10 for the Ramblers (6-2), winners of four straight.
Charlie Reddick scored a team-high 12 points for the Paladins (2-5), who have dropped four of their last five contests. Larry Wideman chipped in with 11 points, while Kendrec Ferrara scored 10 off the bench in a losing effort.
Loyola raced out to an early 14-2 lead, but Furman answered right back with an 8-0 run. The Ramblers eventually went to the locker room with a 29-27 halftime lead after both teams shot below 40 percent from the field in the opening frame.
Furman's Stephen Croone scored the first bucket of the second half to tie the score at 29-29. However, Loyola answered with a 20-0 run and never looked back. Seven different Ramblers scored during that decisive run, and the team would go on to shoot 64.5 percent from the floor and 8-of-14 from beyond the arc over the final 20 minutes.
Loyola forced 20 turnovers and held a 23-8 advantage in points off turnovers for the game.
