NCAA Game Summary - Loyola-Chicago at Illinois-Chicago

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Gary Talton put in a layup with two seconds left to lift the Illinois-Chicago Flames to a 61-59 victory over the Loyola- Chicago Ramblers in a Horizon League thriller at the UIC Pavilion.
Talton scored a team-high 14 points and four assists in the Flames' (11-7, 2-3 Horizon) victory. Josh Crittle recorded 12 points and seven boards as UIC snapped a three-game losing streak.
For the Ramblers (10-7, 1-4), Christian Thomas scored a game-high 16 points and pulled down six boards. Ben Averkamp scored 14 points as Loyola dropped its fourth game in a row.
Despite the Ramblers being down 14 points with 6:55 left in the opening half, they managed to get within five to go into halftime trailing, 35-30. UIC built its first half lead by shooting an even 50 percent from the floor.
Loyola started out the second half on a 10-0 run, but the Flames fought back to win in the final seconds of the half. Facing a 59-57 disadvantage with under two minutes left to play, Crittleton evened the score for the Flames with a layup. Devon Turk missed a potential go-ahead 3-point try for Loyola before Talton's late game heroics.
The Flames only committed three miscues in the entire game which helped them hold an 11-0 edge in points off of turnovers.
