NCAA Game Summary - Akron at Kent State

Kent, OH (Sports Network) - Chauncey Gilliam and Zeke Marshall each scored 12 points to lead the Akron Zips to a 61-55 win over the Kent State Golden Flashes in a Mid-American Conference bout at the MAC Center.
Brian Walsh and Alex Abreu each added 10 points for Akron (21-10, 13-3 MAC) which clinched the top-seed in next week's conference tournament with the win.
Michael Porrini paced Kent State (20-10, 10-6) with 14 points while Carlton Guyton added 12 and Justin Green brought down 13 rebounds.
Kent State led 27-18 at the half by shooting an even 50.0 percent from the floor and holding Akron to only seven field goals. The 18 points was the lowest point total this season in the first half for the Zips.
The Zips opened the second half on a 12-0 run and would lead by as many as 11 in the second half in which they shot at a 51.9 percent clip while holding the Golden Flashes to just 28.1 percent.
Kent State held a slim 38-36 edge in rebounds.
