Tempe, AZ (Sports Network) - Carrick Felix scored 23 points to lead three players with more than 20 points for the Arizona State Sun Devils who upended the Arizona Wildcats 87-80 in a Pac-12 regular season finale between the in-state rivals at Wells Fargo Arena.
Trent Lockett and Jonathan Gilling each had 21 points as well for Arizona State (10-20, 6-12 Pac-12) while Jordan Bachynski chipped in 11 and also blocked six shots. The output was a career high for Gilling. The Sun Devils won back-to-back games to close out the season.
Kyle Fogg finished with 23 points, Angelo Chol put in 18, Solomon Hill had 16, Jesse Perry netted 15 points to go with 11 rebounds for Arizona (21-10, 12-6) which had won seven of its previous eight.
Both teams shot well in the first half with Arizona taking a 44-38 lead into the break by shooting 51.6 percent which was slightly off of the 51.9 percent of Arizona State. The Wildcats 18-12 advantage on points from three point range was the difference.
The Sun Devils kept knocking down shots, improving to an even 60.0 percent in the second half while the Wildcats slowed to 42.9 percent in the upset loss.
Arizona State collected thirteen steals and blocked nine shots in the game.
