Poughkeepsie, NY (Sports Network) - Adam Kemp delivered a double-double
consisting of 23 points and 13 rebounds as he helped guide the Marist Red
Foxes to a 69-64 win over the Greyhounds of Loyola-Maryland in Metro Atlantic
Athletic Conference action at McCann Arena.
Also scoring in double figures for the Red Foxes (7-18, 4-10 MAAC) was
Chavaughn Lewis who responded with 21 points in an effort to offset his seven
turnovers in the team's second straight win following a four-game slide.
The Greyhounds (17-9, 9-5) were paced by Erik Etherly with his 22 points and
seven rebounds, while Robert Olson tacked on 10 points as the team had a two-
game win streak snapped.
Loyola led by as many as seven points in the first half, but the team made
just 5-of-9 shots at the free-throw line in the period, allowing Marist to
stay within a point at the break, 27-26.
In the second half the Red Foxes knocked down a mere 1-of-8 shots beyond the
arc, but made up for it with 18-of-25 at the charity stripe as they grabbed
the five-point home win.
Marist was guilty of 16 turnovers on the day, but at the same time outscored
the visitors at the free-throw line by a 25-12 margin.
