Peoria, IL (Sports Network) - Jordan Prosser led the way with 17 points as the
Bradley Braves took down the George Washington Colonials, 72-68, in a non-
conference matchup at Carver Arena.
For the Braves (6-2), Walt Lemon Jr. added 14 points and Dyricus Simms-Edwards
finished with 11 points.
Patricio Garino led all scorers with 24 points for the Colonials (4-4),while
Isaiah Armwood posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds and John
Kopriva chipped in with 11 points.
Bradley shot very well to open the contest, connecting on 56.3 percent of its
field goal attempts, as the Braves led comfortably at the break, 38-21. The
Braves held the Colonials to just 32.0 percent shooting from the field in the
first half.
After the break, the Colonials found their stroke, draining 61.5 percent of
their shots from the floor in the second half. The Braves cooled off, making
43.3 percent of their field goal attempts after halftime. After leading by as
many as 19 points early in the second, Bradley saw its advantage cut to just
four with a little over a minute to play in regulation, but was able to hold
on for the victory.
The Braves dominated in the paint, outscoring the Colonials 46-28. Bradley
was also able to convert 23 George Washington turnovers into 24 points.
