Charleston, SC (Sports Network) - Karl Cochran led the way with 18 points as the Wofford Terriers downed The Citadel Bulldogs, 62-55, in Southern Conference action at McAlister Field House.
For the Terriers (13-8, 6-3 SoCon), Kevin Giltner finished with 15 points, Drew Crowell scored 12 points and Brad Loesing chipped in 10 points.
The Bulldogs (4-16, 1-8) were led by Bo Holston's 14 points, while Mike Groselle finished with 10 points.
Neither team shot the ball well to start the game. The Citadel hit on just 38.1 percent of their first half field goals, while Wofford made just 37 percent of their shots, including just 1-of-11 from three-point range, as the teams entered halftime knotted at 21-21.
Both teams improved their shooting after the break. The Bulldogs connected on 48 percent of their shots from the field, including 2-of-6 from three-point range. The Terriers shot even better, hitting on 52 percent of their shots and a strong 6-of-12 of their three-point attempts. The teams traded leads for most of the half. After trailing 43-40 with 8:19 to play, the Terriers used a 15-3 run over the next four minutes to take control of the game. The Citadel was not able to get it closer than five points the rest of the way and Wofford secured their fourth-straight victory of the season and 10th straight over The Citadel.
Wofford's bench outscored the reserves of The Citadel, 22-3. The Bulldogs converted 12 Terrier turnovers into 17 points.
