San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Corey Maynard scored 19 points, leading four starters in double figures, as the Bryant Bulldogs captured a 70-63 win over the UC Davis Aggies as part of the Basketball Traveler's Invitational at Viejas Arena.
Maynard added six rebounds and six assists for the Bulldogs (1-1) in the triumph. Alex Francis accounted for 16 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, followed by Frankie Dobbs and Claybrin McMath with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Dobbs also handed out a game-high seven assists.
The Aggies (0-2) were paced by Josh Ritchart who delivered a game-high 21 points as he knocked down 5-of-9 shots behind the three-point line. Ryan Sypkens chipped in 12 points and Ryan Howley 11 as the pair also combined for 16 rebounds and eight assists.
Bryant failed to make a single trip to the free-throw line in the first half, but thanks to 8-of-20 shooting behind the three-point line the team was able to stay within a point at the break, 35-34.
In the second half UC Davis slumped to just 33.3 percent from the floor, allowing Bryant to capture the seven-point win.
The Aggies connected on an impressive 14-of-29 beyond the arc on the night, but also turned the ball over 19 times.
