Final Score: Morgan State 67, VMI 62

Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Kevin Thompson hit all nine of his shots from the floor and finished with 18 points to lead the Morgan State Bears to a 67-62 victory over the VMI Keydets as part of the BracketBusters weekend event.

Rodney Stokes netted 16 points and ripped down 11 rebounds for Morgan State (13-10), which got 10 points from Dewayne Jackson.

Austin Kenon scored 18 points in the loss for VMI (15-12), which got 15 points from Keith Gabriel and 10 points from D.J. Covington.

VMI held a 35-34 edge at intermission, but Morgan State was the better of the two squads in a competitive second half.

Strong defense was key to the win for Morgan State, which held VMI to 37.7 percent field goal efficiency.

An 11-6 edge in points from the foul line also helped the Bears.
