Cookeville, TN (Sports Network) - James Hollowell scored 17 points to lead the Eastern Illinois Panthers to a decisive 74-57 verdict over the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles in Ohio Valley Conference acton at the Eblen Center.
Jeremy Granger added 14 points in the win for EIU (10-14, 3-9 OVC), while Joey Miller finished with 10 points. The victory snapped the Panthers' eight-game losing streak.
Kevin Murphy scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the way for TTU (16-10, 8-5), while Jud Dillard netted 13 points and collected nine boards. Zach Bailey came in from off the bench to chip in 10 points as the Golden Eagles' three-game winning streak ended.
The Golden Eagles were held to a miserable 24.1 percent from the floor over the opening 20 minutes, a mark that included an 0-for-7 performance from beyond the arc. EIU made good on 44.4 percent of its own attempts from the field to go into the break with a 28-20 lead.
The Panthers then shot at a 51.9 percent clip during the second stanza to coast to the 17-point win.
The Panthers added 15-of-21 at the foul line during the meeting.
