Description: Nationals starter Gio Gonzalez was one of several players connected to an anti-aging clinic in Miami that distributed performance-enhancing drugs. He was named five times in the records of Anthony Bosch, who ran the clinic. Gonzalez' father was named as a client of Bosch, and said while he went to Bosch because he needed to lose weight, his son has had no contact with Bosch, according to the New York Times.

8/8/2012 11:11:00 PM
Description: Nationals starter Gio Gonzalez fired the second complete game of his career Wednesday against Houston to improve to 14-6.
Insight: As good as Gonzalez has been this season, he hasn't been much of an innings eater until his last two starts. The lefty has allowed seven earned on 18 hits in 17 innings over his last two starts, and he has limited his walked to two in that span.

Insight: Gonzalez (11-3, 3.01 ERA) tossed five innings Sunday, making that six straight starts he has thrown less than seven innings. Gonzalez is clearly going through a rough patch right now, but to his credit he hasn't let things get too out of hand.

6/21/2012 10:32:00 PM
Description: Nationals starter Gio Gonzalez fought through command issues to hold Tampa Bay to two runs on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts in six innings in Washington's win on Thursday.
Insight: Gonzalez (9-3, 2.55) threw 50 pitches over the first two innings but he was able to strike out Carlos Pena with the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the second. Gonzalez was also visably (and audibly) frustrated with some of the home plate umpire's calls early on. It's a good sign that Gonzalez didn't let the game get away from him despite all of his early troubles.
