Description: The Braves signed reliever Craig Kimbrel to a four-year contract extension over the weekend.
Insight: Kimbrel's new $42 million deal includes a team option for 2018 ($1 million buyout). He's the best closer in the game right now and though $10.5 million a year is a lot to give a relief pitcher, Kimbrel should be worth every penny.

2/26/2011 9:05:00 PM
Description: Kimbrel endured a tough first spring outing Saturday that included two walks, a double and a homer to go with just one recorded out.
Insight: One poor outing certainly doesn't spell doom for the rookie closer candidate, but he'll have to make this look like an outlier to win the job outright. (RapidDraft.com)
