Keating gets 1st Ladies European Tour win

Teneirfe, Spain (Sports Network) - Stacy Keating of Australia birdied the first playoff hole Sunday to defeat Caroline Masson and win the Open de Espana.

The victory was Keating's first on the Ladies European Tour.

Masson, the third-round leader, fell into a tie with Keating after a bogey at the 17th. The pair both parred the last and headed back to No. 18 for the playoff.

There Keating poured in a 5-foot birdie putt to secure her first title on tour.

Keating carded a 2-under 70 on Sunday, while Masson only managed a 1-under 71. The pair finished regulation tied at 9-under-par 279 at Las Americas Golf Course.

Trish Johnson carded a 5-under 67 and took third at minus-8.

Nikki Garrett had a 2-under 70 to finish at 7-under 281, which was good enough for fourth place.
