Russian forward is the second-ranked European skater by NHL Central Scouting...Had a solid sophomore season in the KHL in 2009-10, posting 13 goals and 24 points in 42 games for HC Sibir Novosibirsk...Finished second in KHL Rookie of the Year voting in 2008-09 after notching seven goals and 10 points in 38 games...Led Team Russia to a silver medal at the 2009 World Under-18 Championships, posting 15 points (8 goals, 7 assists) in seven games...Had four goals and an assist in six games at the 2010 World Junior Championships in Canada...Boasts an all-around offensive game, excelling at both goal-scoring as well as play-making...Tarasenko's father, Andrei, who also coaches HC Sibir, had a long hockey playing career in Russia and represented his country at the 1994 Winter Olympics.
