Description: The Minnesota Vikings want to lock up WR Sidney Rice before he tests free agent waters. One way to do that is to cut ties with Bernard Berrian, unless they feel they can restructure his contract. SOURCE: STAR-TRIBUNE
Insight: Berrian made only 28 receptions for 252 yards with no touchdowns. He averaged 20.1 yards per catch and scored seven touchdowns in his first season wearing purple '" but things quickly went south last season and that might ultimately push him out.

Description: Unless Vikings WR Sidney Rice leaves in free agency, there is belief that WR Bernard Berrian won't make it to training camp. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Berrian hadn't made much of an impression during his time as a Viking and will be a very questionable fall-back option if Rice doesn't come back. Berrian as a No. 1 receiver anywhere would be a horrible move.

Description: Vikings WR Bernard Berrian is in danger of being cut this week. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Berrian regressed every year he has been with the Vikings since signing the six-year, $43.4 million contract back in 2008. Due a base salary of $3.9 million this year, he just isn't worth keeping. We doubt he gets a chance to start elsewhere.

Description: Vikings WR Bernard Berrian (questionable, quad) reportedly didn't look good in early morning warmups. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Berrian's quad injury landed him on the injury report late in the week. It's looking like either Greg Camarillo or Greg Lewis will get the nod across from Percy Harvin against the Lions.

Description: Berrian had five catches for 30 yards on Monday night against the Giants.
Insight: Berrian tied for the team lead in receptions in the game, but there's not much more to say than that. (

Description: Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports Berrian (groin) will play in Week 13 after missing Week 12 against the Redskins.
Insight: Berrina is not ownable in fantasy leagues right now, let alone a startable option. (
11/26/2010 6:56:00 AM
Description: Vikings WR Bernard Berrian (groin) sat out Thursday's practice after doing some light work Wednesday.
Insight: Berrian has been dealing with a groin injury and actually played the opening series against the Packers last week. The Vikings could possibly elect to sit Berrian for Sunday's game at Washington, given that he was active but couldn't play Nov. 14 at Chicago before aggravating the problem.
11/21/2010 3:03:00 PM
Description: Vikings WR Bernard Berrian is out against the Packers after aggravating his groin injury.
Insight: Berrian was a very late scratch last week after his groin was acting up in pregame warmups. Sidney Rice got the start over Berrian, so the team may not rush him back if it's severe.
11/19/2010 3:04:00 PM
Description: 1500's Tom Pelissero reports Berrian (groin) will be a game-time decision for Week 11.
Insight: Berrian is someone to avoid in fantasy leagues, healthy or not. (
11/15/2010 10:02:00 PM
Description: The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Berrian (groin) went for a medical opinion on his injured groin on Monday.
Insight: Berrian did not play at all on Sunday against the Bears, and his status for Week 11 against Green Bay has to be considered up in the air. (
11/14/2010 2:39:00 PM
Description: Vikings WR Bernard Berrian reportedly aggravated his groin injury in pregame warmups and isn't playing against the Bears.
Insight: There has been no indications that Berrian will even make an attempt to play. His day is likely done before it started.
11/8/2010 11:02:00 AM
Description: Berrian had nine receptions for 89 yards against Arizona on Sunday.
Insight: It was nice to see Berrian make an appearance, but he will have to show this on a more consistent basis before fantasy owners should rely on him. (
10/25/2010 4:02:00 PM
Description: Berrian had one reception for 30 yards against Green Bay on Sunday night.
Insight: Berrian had just two targets in the game, and is not fantasy relevant right now. (
10/11/2010 8:03:00 PM
Description: 1500's Tom Pelissero reports, via Twitter, that Berrian has been demoted from the starting lineup in favor of Randy Moss.
Insight: Not a surprise here at all, and Berrian looks like the Vikings' No. 3 wide receiver now. (
9/16/2010 11:30:00 AM
Description: According to Vikings QB Brett Favre, he needs to do a better job of getting WR Bernard Berrian involved in the offense. SOURCE: MINNEAPOLIS STAR-TRIBUNE
Insight: Berrian caught just one pass against the Saints, which is basically a continuation of 2009. We don't like Berrian's outlook for Week Two. Keep him on the bench until he proves he is starter worthy.
9/13/2010 12:02:00 PM
Description: Mike Wobschall of believes Berrian will have a "handful of big games where he is a difference maker" and his best is yet to come.
Insight: Berrian and Brett Favre have not been on the same page, but his nagging hamstring issue last year could be partially blamed for that. He will have to start to produce soon to continue to be worthy of a roster spot in fantasy leagues. (
9/10/2010 11:01:00 AM
Description: Berrian had just one catch for three yards in the Vikings' loss to the Saints on Thursday night.
Insight: Berrian appears to be a long way from being on the same page with Brett Favre. (
9/7/2010 4:05:00 PM
Description: Tom Pelissero of 1500 reports, via Twitter, that Berrian is expected to be the Vikings' primary punt returner against the Saints on Thursday night.
Insight: Berrian has averaged 10.1 yards per return on 21 career punt returns. He also stands to be a more significant part of the Vikings' passing game while Sidney Rice (hip) is out. (
9/1/2010 3:01:00 PM
Description: The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Berrian insisted his chemistry with Brett Favre is fine.
Insight: Berrian is a nice possible value pick in fantasy drafts with Sidney Rice (hip) out. He should have time to develop a rapport with Favre. (

Description: Vikings WR Bernard Berrian insists that the chemistry with QB Brett Favre is fine after having a disaster of a game last weekend. SOURCE: ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS
Insight: Berrian reportedly looked "disinterested" against the Seahawks, alligator arming a couple passes and dropping another one that resulted in a pick six. Still, Berrian is likely the best bet for Sidney Rice owners who missed out on Percy Harvin. Hopefully, things will change by the regular-season opener.
