Description: DE/LB Matt Roth agreed to terms on a one-year, $3 million deal Thursday, but the team decided not to have him sign it until today so they didn't have to cut a player before the preseason opener. SOURCE: FLORIDA TIMES-UNION
Insight: Roth is better in a 3-4 scheme at OLB, but the Jags believe he can bulk up and play 4-3 DE for them. He'll help the Jags in the run game for sure, but they also expect him to be able to put some pressure on opposing QBs. Roth isn't likely going to be a starting LB in most standard IDP leagues, but in deeper leagues he could make some noise. Last season he posted four sacks, 59 tackles and 27 assists.

Description: Browns re-signed restricted free agent OLB Matt Roth to a one-year, $1.809 million contract.
Insight: The Browns weren't willing to put a large investment into a player who gets injured as often as Roth does. He should some IDP value during the season...until he inevitably hits the training table. (sportsBuff.com)

Description: Restricted free agent OLB Matt Roth has asked the Browns to trade him.
Insight: Roth is upset because the Browns haven't rewarded him with a new contract. He should know that guys who get injured as often as he does rarely command huge guaranteed money. (sportsBuff.com)

Description: Roth has returned to practicing in individual drill, but he is still not back to full practices with the team as his groin injury is healing.
Insight: Roth may have lost serious ground on his starting job with Jason Taylor back in the mix. Keep an eye on how he plays during the preseason before deciding where to rank him for a draft that uses IDP's. (sportsBuff.com)
