Description: According to the Boston Globe, the Patriots gave up on recently signed Anthony Gonzalez because he simply didn't have the speed anymore.
Insight: Gonzalez never returned to his pre-injury performance level and this is likely the end of the line for the former Colts wideout.

Description: Anthony Gonzalez signed with the New England Patriots on Saturday.
Insight: We haven't seen much of Gonzalez the last few years. In fact, he's only seen the field 11 times since 2009. Even if he's 100% going into the 2012 season, he'll be behind Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd on New England's depth chart and remember, two of Tom Brady's favorite targets are tight ends. You probably won't get a lot of use out of Gonzalez next year, at least from a fantasy standpoint.

Description: The Colts have placed WR Anthony Gonzalez on injured reserve with a knee injury. SOURCE: NFL.FANHOUSE.COM
Insight: The injury is said to be to Gonzalez's PCL, which is the second-straight year he has been hit with the same injury. After a WR2 ranking in 2009's offseason, Gonzalez's long-term outlook looks bleak since he can't stay healthy.

Description: The Colts have placed Gonzalez on injured reserve because of a knee injury. It's the second straight season he has ended that way.
Insight: Those in redraft leagues will obviously drop him, but it's also getting tough to believe in Gonzalez as a dynasty option. We'll see if he can get and stay healthier in 2011. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez's left knee injury is reportedly to the PCL in his knee. SOURCE: ESPN.COM
Insight: Gonzalez took a "cheap shot" from Texans DB Bernard Pollard and there is belief that he will miss an extended period of time, or the rest of the season altogether. Austin Collie looks like he came back, or rushed back, at a good time. Expect him to play the slot behind Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon against the Eagles.

10/30/2010 10:00:00 PM
Description: Despite rumors of a reaggravation to his sprained ankle and a "questionable" designation, Gonzalez practiced all week and is expected to play Monday.
Insight: The fact that he hasn't done anything since 2008 and figures to split time with Blair White makes it nearly impossible to trust Gonzalez this week. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez (ankle) will be "ready" to go against the Texans on Monday night. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Considering his lengthy absence from the football field, we don't consider Gonzalez as anything more than a desperation pick as the No. 3 receiver. Gonzo kills all of Blair White's value with White now moving to No. 4 on the depth chart.

Description: Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez recently aggravated his high ankle sprain and is out indefinitely again. SOURCE: ESPN.COM
Insight: There is no timetable for Gonzo's return, but it now appears that Blair White will move up to the No. 3 spot behind Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon. The Colts' receiving unit is turning into a complete mess.

9/23/2010 4:03:00 PM
Description: Gonzalez is expected to miss four to six weeks with a high right ankle sprain.
Insight: Anyone still clinging to him in a redraft league can go ahead and cut. Gonzalez was already behind everyone else in arguably the league's best receiving corps and won't gain any ground while sidelined. (RapidDraft.com)

9/16/2010 1:05:00 AM
Description: Gonzalez has already been ruled out for Week 2 thanks to a high ankle sprain.
Insight: You didn't need this to tell you not to start Gonzalez. Between his spate of injuries and the big game Austin Collie had in Week 1, Gonzalez is droppable in redraft leagues. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: It's being reported that Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez appears to have won the team's punt returner job. SOURCE: INDIANAPOLIS STAR
Insight: Gonzalez still needs an injury to be a fantasy factor. Leave him on the waiver wire for now.

9/7/2010 9:52:00 AM
Description: According to Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez, he hasn't been given a fair shot to earn his starting job back. SOURCE: INDIANAPOLIS STAR
Insight: Pierre Garcon is locked in as the starter across from Reggie Wayne, which will severely limit Gonzalez's fantasy stock. And with Austin Collie in the mix, the other Gonzo is the team's No. 4 receiver at best this year. He will do most of his work on special teams.

8/7/2010 7:57:00 PM
Description: Anthony Gonzalez is among the Colts working in punt returner drills.
Insight: Gonzalez has never been used as a return man, so his role in the offense may be shrinking. That knee injury could prove to be ultra costly for him. (RapidDraft.com)

8/5/2010 5:22:00 PM
Description: The Colts haven't told WR Anthony Gonzalez what his role will be in the offense this year. SOURCE: COLTS.COM
Insight: Gonzalez doesn't have much redraft value. And while he has looked good in training camp, he will need an injury to see any real playing time.

7/14/2010 10:51:00 PM
Description: Anthony Gonazalez (knee) says he finally has his speed back.
Insight: His speed may be back, but his starting gig has disappeared. Gonzalez is going to have to compete with Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon for looks and is a poor bet to be anything more than a flex player. (SportsBuff.com)

7/14/2010 10:51:00 AM
Description: Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez (knee) revealed that he finally has his speed back. SOURCE: INDY FOOTBALL REPORT
Insight: Gonzalez still has an uphill climb to grab a starting job. Pierre Garcon showed he deserves a starting job and Austin Collie really came into his own when given the chance.

6/24/2010 8:06:00 PM
Description: The Colts coaching staff has promised Anthony Gonzalez a shot to compete with Pierre Garcon for the starting job opposite Reggie Wayne this summer.
Insight: That's fine, but he really could have an uphill climb here. The Colts offense became so spread out in his absence that he is no longer assured of getting any significant action. (sportsBuff.com)

6/12/2010 6:42:00 PM
Description: Colts president Bill Polian confirmed that the injury currently sidelining Anthony Gonzalez is unrelated to last year's knee problems.
Insight: The injury is rumored to be a hamstring problem. Gonzalez needs to fight for a spot this year, so getting back on the field is paramount to him. (SportsBuff.com)

6/6/2010 7:39:00 PM
Description: Anthony Gonzalez is now being held out of Colts mandatory minicamp.
Insight: The reason is unclear but, if it's injury related, then a huge red flag should be attached to his name. Gonzalez isn't even assured of a starting role anymore. (sportsbuff.com)

5/21/2010 7:42:00 PM
Description: Colts coach Jim Caldwell wouldn't commit to using Anthony Gonzalez at a specific receiver (slot or outside) position Friday.
Insight: Gonzalez is going to have to carve out his role all over again after coming back from his knee injury. His fantasy stock is in free fall until further notice. (SportsBuff.com)
